Email Blacklist Check (DNSBL)
Is a mail server IP listed on 20 major spam blocklists?
About the Email Blacklist Check tool
Mail servers consult DNS-based blocklists (DNSBLs) to decide whether to accept a message. If your sending IP appears on a widely used list, your email may be rejected or sent to spam.
This check queries 20 popular lists at once, including Spamhaus ZEN (SBL, XBL and PBL), SpamCop, Barracuda and UCEPROTECT. Listed results include the list's return code and, where provided, its reason text with a link to the delisting page.
A PBL listing for a home or mobile IP is normal: it means the address should send mail through your provider's mail server rather than directly.
Frequently asked questions
How do I get removed from a blacklist?
Fix the cause first (compromised account, open relay, missing authentication), then use the list's removal page linked in the results. Many lists expire entries automatically.
Why do some lists show 'IPv4 only'?
Most blocklists publish data only for IPv4. For IPv6, only lists that support it are checked.
Why might a list show an error?
Some lists rate-limit or refuse queries. An error means the list couldn't be checked, not that you are listed.
