Privacy Policy
Effective October 6, 2026
This policy explains what information DNS Toolbox ("we", "us") at www.dnstoolbox.us collects, how it is used, and the choices you have.
Information we process
Connection data. When you visit the site, our servers receive your IP address and the information your browser sends, such as its user agent and preferred language. The "What Is My IP?" tool displays this back to you, together with an approximate location derived from the MaxMind GeoLite2 database and a reverse DNS lookup of your address.
Tool inputs. Domain names, IP addresses and selectors you submit are used only to perform the lookup you requested. To do so we send queries to third parties, including public DNS resolvers, domain and IP registries (RDAP/WHOIS), DNS blocklist operators and the target hosts of ping checks.
Logs. Our hosting platform (Microsoft Azure) records technical logs, which may include IP addresses and requested URLs, for security, abuse prevention and troubleshooting. These logs are retained for up to 30 days.
Rate limiting. To prevent abuse we keep a short-lived, in-memory count of requests per IP address. It is discarded within minutes.
We do not ask you to create an account, and we do not sell your personal information.
Cookies, advertising and analytics
We use Google AdSense to show ads and Google Analytics to understand how the site is used. Google and its partners may use cookies or similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites and to measure performance. You can opt out of personalized advertising at Google Ads Settings or aboutads.info. Learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland are asked for consent through Google's consent management platform before advertising or analytics cookies are used. You can change your choice at any time using the privacy settings link shown by that platform.
We store your light/dark theme preference in your browser's local storage. It never leaves your device.

Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or object to the processing of your personal information, and to withdraw consent.
