Domain Whois Search
Domain registrar, dates, status and nameservers.
About the Whois Search tool
A domain Whois search shows who the domain is registered through, when it was created, when it expires, its status codes and its delegated nameservers.
We query the registry's RDAP service first and follow the registrar's RDAP link for thin registries such as .com and .net. If a top-level domain has no RDAP service, we fall back to classic WHOIS on port 43.
Registrant contact details are usually redacted for privacy under GDPR and registrar policies.
Frequently asked questions
Why is the registrant name hidden?
Most registrars redact personal contact data. You can usually reach the registrant through the registrar's contact form.
What does clientTransferProhibited mean?
It is a registrar lock that prevents unauthorized transfers. It is normal and recommended.
How do I find when a domain expires?
The expiration date appears in the results. Registries may allow a grace period after expiry before the domain is released.
