IP Whois Lookup (RDAP)
Who owns an IP address: network, organization, abuse contact.
About the IP Whois tool
IP Whois tells you which organization an IP address is registered to, the network block it belongs to, and how to report abuse. This tool uses RDAP (Registration Data Access Protocol), the structured, JSON-based successor to port-43 WHOIS.
Lookups start at ARIN, the registry for North America. When an address is managed by another Regional Internet Registry, ARIN refers the query on, and we follow that referral to RIPE NCC, APNIC, LACNIC or AFRINIC so you always get the authoritative record.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between WHOIS and RDAP?
RDAP returns structured data over HTTPS with standardized fields, internationalization and referrals. Classic WHOIS returns free-form text over TCP port 43.
Why is the owner an ISP rather than a company?
Most addresses are assigned to ISPs and hosting providers, who may sub-allocate them to customers without publishing a separate record.
How do I report abuse from an IP address?
Use the abuse contact shown in the results. It is the address the network operator has registered for abuse reports.
