About the Nameserver Lookup tool

NS records name the authoritative nameservers for a DNS zone, the servers that hold the domain's real records. This lookup lists each nameserver with its IPv4 and IPv6 addresses.

The DNS Provider of Record is identified from the nameserver host names using a catalogue of well-known providers. When a nameserver isn't recognized, we look up the registered owner of its IP address via RDAP.

Frequently asked questions

How long do nameserver changes take?

Changes made at the registrar update the parent zone quickly, but resolvers may cache the old NS records for up to their TTL, commonly 24โ€“48 hours.

Why do I see two providers?

Some domains use multiple DNS providers for redundancy. Each nameserver's provider is shown separately.
